Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Reacts As Lyon Loses At Supreme Court

The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed has congratulated Senator Douye Diri, after the Supreme Court verdict on the Bayelsa elections.

The apex court on Thursday, sacked David Lyon as the governor-elect.

A panel of judges led by Mary Odili, voided the joint ticket of Lyon and Degi-Eremienyo over certificate forgery and set aside their participation in the governorship election.

Mohammed, who was the Chairman of the Bayelsa Campaign Council in the recently concluded governorship election in the state, also ‪thanked PDP for giving him the opportunity to serve in that capacity.

The Governor, in a statement, hailed Diri’s victory as a defining judgement.

“‪I thank the PDP family for the opportunity to have served as the Chairman, Bayelsa Campaign Council in the recently concluded governorship election in Bayelsa State.

“And most especially, I congratulate the incoming governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on their victory at the Supreme Court,”

Mohammed said.
