Mr. Ifeanyi Nkeosenyem, the youth president of the Ugbodu community in the Aniocha North Local Government of the Delta State, allegedly raped a 14-year-old child.
It was reported that the incident, which allegedly occurred on Thursday, was the seventh accusation of rape against Nkeosenyem.
It has been discovered that the perpetrator is the victim's dad.
A community source said the perpetrator visited the parents of the victim but did not reach them at home and allegedly defiled the victim on her parents' marriage bed.
The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said, "Nkeosenyem, who is the youth president of the group, lured the victim to the marriage bed of her parents, defiled her and said that her parents couldn't do anything because they were bad, and he could always buy his way out.
"This is not the first time the man has indulged in the act of defiling minors in the city." The state police officer, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the incident, described it as an evil act against humanity.
She said the suspect had been detained and transferred to the state police headquarters in Asaba.
"The perpetrator was charged. He is a member of the State Criminal Investigation Agency. Since the matter is a serious crime, we really need the judge, but the COVID-19 lock-down mobile judge can not handle it. The perpetrator will be charged after the lockout, "said PPRO.
