As every state is trying her best to safeguard her people from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Government of Rivers State, has intercepted a truck loaded with people inside.
PARADISE NEWS learnt that the truck which was smuggling twenty-two people from Abia State into Rivers State was intercepted on Thursday in Port Harcourt.
According to a source, the 22 people have been arrested and placed on watch by the COVID-19 Task Force team in the state.
“While Badore is trending in Lagos, Rivers State Government arrests 22 people being smuggled in a truck into Rivers State from Abia State. They have been placed on watch”, the source @fufilledson tweeted.
Recall that Governors in Nigeria in a meeting on Wednesday agreed on a two-week lockdown extension in other to curb the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
According to the NCDC, Rivers State currently has 3 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
