24-yr-old woman allegedly stabs boyfriend to death over cheating in Lagos
A 24-year-old woman has been arrested by the Lagos state police for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death over alleged cheating.
The woman named Nkechi, aka Omalicha, allegedly attacked Auwal Suleiman, 26, yesterday, August 1st, 2020, at their residence in Sagbokoji Island, Apapa, Lagos State.
The couple started dating in 2018 and began living together in 2019. On August 1, 2020, they got into a heated argument over alleged cheating and during the argument, the suspect took a knife and stabbed her boyfriend to death.
Gov. Ikpeazu sacks Commissioner, LG chairman, suspends 3 others
Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu has sacked the Commissioner for Transport, Barr. Ekele Nwaohanmuo and the Transition Committee chairman of Umunneochi council area, Mr Matthew Ibe.
The Governor also suspended the General Manager of the Traffic and Indiscipline Management Agency of Abia State, TIMAAS, Mr Bright Chinedu Ikokwu; the Transition Committee Chairman of Aba South council, Mr Cherechi Nwogu and his Aba North counterpart, Mr Victor Ubani.
In a statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Dr Anthony Agbazuere; the governor also approved the appointment of Mr Tony Nwanmuo and Mr Godswill Nwonoruo, as commissioner nominees as well as Barr. Eze Chikamnayo, as the Transition Committee Chairman nominee for Umunneochi Council.
Gunmen kill district head in Nasarawa
The District Head of Odu Village in Nasarawa Local Government Area, Mr Amos Obere, has been murdered by unknown gunmen.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Nansel Ramhan, while confirming the incident to newsmen in Lafia on Sunday said the command is making efforts to find the killers of the district head and bring them to book.
According to him, the command will not rest on its oars until the killers were identified, arrested and prosecuted. He said investigation to unravel the circumstances and those behind the attack had since commenced.
Troops kill 80, rescue 17 in anti-banditry operations in N’West
Eighty bandits have been killed, 33 suspects arrested, 943 cows, 633 sheep recovered and seven AK47 Riffles, one GPMG,16 Dane guns have been captured in the onslaught against bandits in Katsina State by troops of Operation Sahel Sanity, the Nigerian Military has said.
Seventeen kidnap victims were also rescued, while several bandits’ camps including the notorious Dangote Triangle and their logistics bases were destroyed within the first month of launching of the anti-bandit Operation codenamed Operation Sahel Sanity by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai
