Premier League champions Liverpool are expected to add to their squad this summer as they look to dominant English football for years to come.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds were superb in the 2019/20 campaign but will not want to rest on their laurels.
They are expected to do plenty of business this summer, with players coming in and out of Anfield.
White’s former manager has urged Liverpool to sign the in-demand Brighton defender.
Newport boss Michael Flynn signed White on loan for the 2017/18 season in what was the centre-back’s first taste of regular, senior football.
The 22-year-old then went on loan to Peterborough, before impressing for Leeds in their promotion-winning Championship season last term.
Brighton rejected an improved £22m bid for White from Leeds earlier this week, despite the player turning down two new contract offers from the Seagulls.
It is a transfer saga which could rumble on towards the end of the summer window with Liverpool fan Flynn keen to see White at Anfield.
The Reds, along with Chelsea, have been linked with rivalling Leeds for White, and Flynn told talkSPORT 2: “I’d love to see him at Liverpool. I know Pep Lijnders, the assistant, he’s an unbelievable coach.
“So I know he will help Ben improve. He’s got to do what’s best for Ben White. That could be getting a season in the Premier League with regular games at Brighton, which I think he could do.
“[Brighton boss] Graham Potter might want to keep him and bring him on and then sell him for more money after a year in the Premier League.
“That’s a decision for Ben, but for biased reasons, I’d be edging him towards Liverpool.”
