A pet hen has shot to fame in China for its love for a completely unique snack - iron screws.
The choosy eater was spotted gorging at the metallic components with the aid of its greatly surprised proprietor, Song Zhenduo, who owns an electrical repair shop in north-jap Chinese province Heilongjiang.
Despite having strange taste buds, the hen is stated to be in wholesome condition and even heavier than its friends after enjoying the 'nutritious' meal.
Mr Song, who lives within the town of Hailun in Heilongjiang, sold a brood of chicks in July and saved them on a front backyard out of doors his shop.
While working at the store at some point, the bird owner turned into stunned to look one of the birds choosing up the iron screws on the floor before gobbling them down.
'I became saying to my patron 'shoot, the chicken is going to die day after today',' Mr Song informed Pear, a Chinese video internet site.

'Other chickens might combat to get the screws once they saw [it eating the screws],' Mr Song stated. 'But they might then spit them out.'
He even had to disguise the iron screws from the hen to keep away from it from ingesting them.
The hen is thought to comprise 'acid materials' that could dissolve the metal components after consuming them, according to a group of workers member from the local ministry of animal husbandry.

Footage of the bird consuming screws amused hundreds of thousands of social media customers on Weibo, the Chinese equal of Twitter, after being shared the previous day.
One commenter jokingly wrote: 'The hen is making an attempt to get a few iron to acquire a nutritious weight-reduction plan!'
Other netizens advised the proprietor to take his pet for an examination, arguing that the screws might also had been left inside the animal's body.
One of them said: 'You should take it to have an X-ray test. The screws would possibly still be inner. I don't suppose they have been 'dissolved'.'
