The United Kingdom has removed itself from the supposed monetary plundering leveled against a previous Nigerian Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, by an individual from its parliament, Tom Tugendhat.

The activity followed a request to the British Parliament by a gathering, Igbo for a Progressive Nigeria (IPAN), requesting insights concerning the claim.

Tugendhat had during the Westminster Hall banter on November 23, blamed Gowon for plundering portion of the Central Bank of Nigeria while he (Gowon) held influence.

As indicated by Tugendhat, "A few people will recall when General Gowon left Nigeria with half of the Central Bank, so it is stated, and moved to London."

Answering IPAN's request in a letter dated December 21 and endorsed by an individual from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Nigeria Unit, one Angela unveiled that Tom Tugendhat offered the expression in his very own ability, and not for the British Parliament or United Kingdom.

Angela stated: "Thank you for your email of 29 November to the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office about the discussion on Nigeria.

I am answering as an individual from the FCDO Nigeria Unit. I perceive there is worry about the remarks made by Tom Tugendhat MP about previous Nigerian Head of State, General Gowon, during the Westminster Hall banter on 23 November.

"I might want to explain that Mr Tugendhat was talking in an individual limit and not for the benefit of the UK Government.

"The High Commissioner has kept in touch with the Nigerian Foreign Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, just as to General Gowon, to repeat this point. Yours Sincerely, Angela."

Be that as it may, the National President of IPAN, Lawrence Onuzulike, in the request made accessible to our reporter, requested the verification of the claim against the previous Head of State, taking steps to drag them to court over character criticism.

Onuzulike's request mostly peruses: " I am composing in the interest of millions of energetic Nigerians to voice our interests on a proclamation made by the British parliament.

"We are made to accept, from data on your site, that we ought to get a reaction to this letter inside 20 days.

"As of late, at the UK parliament board banter on a request on the Nigeria's #EndSARS emergency, Tom Tugendhat, an individual from the United Kingdom Parliament, had blamed Yakubu Gowon – a previous Nigerian military head of state who governed Nigeria from 1966 to 1975 – of plundering portion of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

"Back home, a large number of Nigerians are paying attention to this charge very, and for that, we're requiring a proof. We, Nigerians, are looking for a proof of the charge that Mr Gowon plundered portion of the Nigeria's Central Bank since we need to consider him responsible.

"For a situation where there's no confirmation, at that point we ask that Mr Tom Tugendhat quickly offer open conciliatory sentiment to both Nigeria and Nigerians.

"We, Nigerians, have gone through a ton in the previous few months and the least we need right now are prompting articulations and words that cause division.

"I want to get a reaction soon which I'll tenaciously pass back to Nigerians who knew about this my letter of grumbling to the British Parliament."
