Human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN), said on Thursday that #EndSARS dissenters were not financial saboteurs as proposed by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, on Tuesday.
Equity Tsoho had at the function denoting the beginning of the 2020/2021 legitimate year of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, attempted to legitimize the request gave by another appointed authority of the court, Justice Ahmed Mohammed, freezing the records of 20 #EndSARS advertisers.
He said three months the fights, the Central Bank of Nigeria continued documenting applications in their hundreds to handle intentional endeavors to destroy the economy through illegal tax avoidance.
He added, "So in the event that it was the #EndSARS individuals that were engaged with the exercises under cover then it is lamentable for individuals to start to call and denounce the court making harming claims against the court."
Requested to react to the Chief Judge's endeavor to connect the dissent advertisers to monetary harm, Falana said on Thursday that the dissent advertisers were not financial saboteurs but rather devoted residents.
Falana, who is a legal counselor to the #EndSARS nonconformists whose records were frozen by the peak bank, reviewed that the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, held a virtual gathering with the advertisers in the wake of the serene fights.
He said Emefiele turned to acquiring ex parte request to freeze the records of the dissent advertisers subsequent to neglecting to persuade them to cancel the dissent.
He stated, "Since the use of the 20 #EndSARS advertisers looking to subdue the ex parte request freezing their financial balances is forthcoming under the watchful eye of the Federal High Court directed by the Honorable Justice R.A. Mohammed, I have convinced our customers to abstain from getting issues together with the Honorable Chief Judge over the disputable ex cathedra explanation.
"In any case, it is appropriate to express that the 20 #EndSARS were not sued as corporate bodies however as people whose names and financial balances are recorded in all the cycles documented in the court by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
"I wish to state, with no dread of logical inconsistency that the #EndSARS dissenters are not monetary saboteurs but rather devoted residents who challenged unending police mercilessness.
"For the evasion of uncertainty, the case was recorded on October 20, 2020, while the request ex parte was given on November 4, 2020, after the #EndSARS fights."
