Yeni Kuti, daughter of the late Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, has lamented a stolen family picture which according to her would have been perfect for the family’s museums, Igbere TV reports.
Yeni posted the picture on Instagram on Wednesday, saying many people had sent it to her.
"I have gotten this image from countless individuals I figured I should post it. This image used to have a place with us till it was taken like huge numbers of our photos, by corrupt individuals. It disheartens me that they presently post them via online media without returning them to the legitimate proprietors. They are our recollections that I would have readily shared or placed in our galleries however now rejected that chance," she composed.
The image was taken at Fela's homecoming party in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital at the home of Olufunmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Fela's mom.
Posting those in the image from left to right, Yeni expressed: "Aunt Dolu (Fela's Sister) holding her child Yomi Ogundipe , Granny (The lioness of Lisabi) our grandma. Uncle Koye (The most Honorable priest of wellbeing to date) as I would like to think o!!!and his first child Dotun. My cousin now an extraordinary veterinary specialist Fela our dad (CREATOR of Afrobeat) holding me (become flushed) see me focusing on him and my mom Remilekun (lovely all around holding Femi my sibling (incredible performer)."
Yeni added that the home of her grandma where the image was taken is presently the Kuti Heritage Museum.
