The victim was locked up in a bedroom by her elder brothers after she was alleged to have conceived and delivered a baby girl outside wedlock.
A 35-year-old woman allegedly kept in captivity by her relatives at a family house for over five months has been rescued by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe State.
Saratu Ayuba of Bolari quarters in Gombe city, was saved after a tip off by neighbors, after they learnt of the brutal condition she was exposed to.
Every day Trust reports that she was secured up a room by her senior siblings for more than five months, after she was claimed to have imagined and conveyed an infant young lady outside wedlock.
Witnesses said Saratu was tied and secured close by her two-month-old little girl inside an unhygienic, single room at their family house. Saratu, who showed up obviously anorexic without appropriate garments, said she was just taken care of with tea and bread once every day throughout the previous five months she had been secured up in the room.
In any case, Saratu's senior sibling, Muhammad Tajudden, told newsmen that they secured her in the room after she was analyzed of a dysfunctional behavior.
