The suspect who was sentenced to life imprisonment was found guilty of raping his step-daughter.
A 47-year-old identified as Emmanuel Thompson Udo has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Family Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State for having carnal knowledge of his 14-year-old stepdaughter.
Udo was on Thursday, December 3, seen as blameworthy of assaulting the minor in August, 2018 at his living arrangement No. 45 Afokang Street, Calabar South nearby government region of the state.
He was indicted by Hon. Equity E.E. Ita, Acting Chief Judge of Cross River State and directing Judge of the Family Court.
His conviction was made sure about politeness of the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI); Hon. Tanko Ashang, previous Attorney General of Cross River State; Mr. Felix Itittim, the DPP; Blessing Egwu and the Nigeria Police.
