Osun State Government, on Thursday, coordinated all essential and optional schools in the state to continue on Christmas and New Year break, beginning from Friday.
This was contained in a Public Service Announcement endorsed by the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Education, K. Olaniyan.
The public authority expressed that the choice to close down both private and state funded schools was for security reasons without showing the resumption date.
There have been wellbeing worries over the rising instances of COVID-19 recorded in the state.
The declaration read partially, "The Government of the State of Osun has coordinated that all essential and optional schools (private and public) ought to continue on Christmas and New year break tomorrow – December 18, 2020.
"The public authority puts a high premium on the security of our residents by and large and understudies specifically henceforth this proactive preventive measure.
"Resumption date will be imparted when it's protected to continue in the new year."
