Journalist Kiki Mordi has responded to an allegation by her colleague Ruona Meyer that she has been dishonestly taking all the credits for the #SexForGrades project which exposed sexual harassment in Nigerian varsities, Igbere TV reports.
Ms Mordi has won several awards for the story published by BBC Africa Eye in October 2019 using the University of Lagos as case study.
Following her most recent acknowledgment as champ of the 2020 Michael Elliott Award for African Storytelling over the task, Meyer tweeted on Thursday that Mordi should impart the prize cash to a female partner basically named O. O. whom she asserted pitched the story and accomplished the underground work.
"Kiki, ensure this time you in any event share whatever prize cash there is with O.O and recognize her – given this was all her story as pitched, sourced/began.
"Genuine columnists have honor and furthermore consider themselves answerable, not simply the public authority," Meyer composed, adding that she was in "that newsroom when N.O and O.O pitched that story."
Mordi reacted, saying Meyer has been harsh towards her since she (Mordi) finished binds with Meyer.
"Each new day I win an honor, Ruona loses it. I will never comprehend what I did to this lady other than unfollowing her on Twitter.
"The way that I'm impeded makes it harder for me to try and hear what she's saying � It's in every case some horse crap, are you that exhausted?" Mordi inquired.
"Brief you're encouraging me on the best way to hoard clout and not retweet Fisayo Soyombo's story. Since I figured you were a detestable individual, you left me and discovered your next casualty. 50 minutes call the first occasion when you ever addressed me was to disclose to me who to loathe and who not to despise" she added.
