A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr Femi Falana, has blamed the Senate for requesting the President to show up before it, saying it has no capacity to call him just as state lead representatives.
He made this referred to when he showed up as a visitor on Channels Television's morning meal program, Sunrise Daily, on Thursday.
Citing Sections of the Constitution, he clarified that "the President or the legislative leader of a state can't be called by the National Assembly (NASS).
"There is no such force given to NASS by the Constitution to gather everyone," he expressed.
"It has given the President the carefulness to address the National Assembly either mutually or independently on any matter of public significance."
The senior attorney additionally stated: "the Senate didn't hit the nail on the head this time around. By goodness of Section 67 of the Constitution, the National Assembly or either chamber can gather a Minister when the undertakings of their services are getting looked at.
"The lone other event where a public official can be brought by the National Assembly is when procedures are continuous to uncover defilement (Section 88) and when a law is being discussed either with the end goal of revising it or to have another law completely."
