Some traders of Igbo extraction and Yoruba youths in Akure, the Ondo State capital, have engaged in a free for all following the alleged stabbing of a masquerade escort by an Igbo trader
The episode was said to have occurred at Oja Oba.
Witnesses said the two sides occupied with a firearm duel until security specialists were conveyed to the region to uphold harmony and mental stability.
An onlooker said inconvenience began when a kid filling in as an escort of a unidentified Akure disguise was wounded by an Igbo man.
The observer said Akure youth prepared to fight back against the Igbos and it prompted a fracas.
Boss Press secretary to the Deji of Akure, l Michael Adeyeye said the circumstance has been managed.
As indicated by him, "An Igbo man wounded an Akure man, while the Akure individuals re-implemented themselves at Odo-petu network.
"The man was harmed and has been taken to a close by facility. The security men have taken care of the circumstance to reestablish harmony.
"At this period, the Kabiyesi has completed each festival. These aftermath festivities should be possible without causing enmity or distress in the town."
