Sowore had requested one of his brothers to bring his books for him to read and refresh his mind but he was prevented from taking the books inside.

The activity constrained the activist to reject the nourishments, garments and different things that were brought for him.

He promised not to eat any of the nourishments except if the police permitted him to approach his books.

He stated, "I can't take care of my stomach when I haven't took care of my mind."

Likewise his associates, who were captured close by him, have participated in the craving strike.

Sowore and the others were captured while leaving on a parade to enter the New Year.

It will be reviewed that Sowore had before been captured on August 3, 2019, in Lagos by the Department of State Services, Nigeria's homegrown knowledge office with a background marked by suppression.

He was moved to the office's central command in Abuja where he was wrongfully kept for 144 days in spite of various court orders for his delivery.

The DSS blamed Sowore for outlandish wrongdoings like illegal tax avoidance. The security organization guaranteed he was plotting to oust President Muhammadu Buhari despite the fact that it neglected to deliver proof to validate its case.

He was along these lines charged for injustice however had argued not blameworthy. The lobbyist cum writer was allowed bail in November 2020, yet some portion of the conditions limits him to Abuja.
