Head of Department of Political Science, University of Ilorin, Dr. Gbade Ojo, yesterday, encouraged the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to accommodate with Afenifere pioneers to get their help in the 2023 official political race.

Ojo, a partner teacher of Comparative Politics, who was Chief of Staff (COS) to previous Governor Abiola Ajimobi, expressed this in a meeting with The Guardian in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He kept up that anyone who misjudged Afenifere did as such at his political risk, saying individuals from the gathering were solid assessment pioneers.

His words: "On a genuine note, Tinubu is a famous character and politically arranged individual in the Southwest. Passing by the quantity of individuals he has made in governmental issues, Tinubu is a power to deal with politically in the Southwest.

"Yet, that is inside the Southwest APC. Remember that there are individuals in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who may not be prepared for him and would not help his candidature.

"Likewise, there are different gatherings like Afenifere. The manner in which they have been talking, it appears they are not on the side of Tinubu. Taking a gander at the example of casting a ballot in the 2019 general races, which is more exact than wistful, if more individuals might have decided in favor of PDP in the official races in Oyo, and Ondo States, you can't state Tinubu is the most well known competitor in the Southwest."

He said Tinubu expected to try sincerely and sentiment a few gatherings, which are not on the side of his political goal. Afenifere individuals are powerful to that degree and various them are assessment disintegrates. The print and broadcast media give them a great deal of exposure. They can go far to impact the discretionary choices of certain individuals.

"Or maybe expect a circumstance whereby Tinubu would go underground to meet with Afenifere pioneers, I would have like him to ask them the reason for their grouses so he could patch wall with them. You don't underestimate anyone with regards to legislative issues and decisions. It could add up to one's political fixing to misjudge Afenifere. They are politically applicable," he expressed.

Ojo said disintegration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chief a year ago was political hypocricy, adding: "The APC has a Caretaker Committee to deal with the change. It is amusing for the gathering to break down itself. That is the reason the resistance imagines that they shouldn't be in government."
