Former President Goodluck Jonathan has on Thursday said restructuring the country had its benefits but the elites must de-emphasize issues that polarised the people.
He stated, "We can't rebuild without addressing issues that spellbind us which are nepotism, ethnic and strict contrasts and absence of enthusiasm.
"Likewise, conversation on rebuilding won't help aside from we rebuild our psyches. A portion of the difficulties looked at the public level are still there at the state and neighborhood government levels, and some of the time even in our networks.
"From Independence, the battle was that governmental issues depended on locales and there was this strain. It's a powerful blow between the districts who will deliver the public chiefs and that is as yet chasing us till today."

Drawing ethics exercise from the narrative of 'Infant Frog and Baby Snake' who related as companions until their moms disclosed to them independently that one was nourishment for the other, Jonathan cautioned, "Our discussion in this nation is taking the component of child frog and infant snake. We are making our kids scorn themselves."
Regardless, he dismissed the twin thoughts of the one-party framework and unitary arrangement of government as a panacea to the present status of political polarization in the country.
"Allow me to state for the records that I emphatically restrict both the way of thinking and the possibility of a one-party framework just as the unitary arrangement of government as an answer for ethnic and social variety. That can't take care of the issue," he expressed.
Prior in his location, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf, the Chairman of Media Trust Ltd, coordinators of the occasion, reviewed that the decision All Progressives Congress (APC) while crusading in 2015, vowed far and wide protected changes in the light of building up evident federalism. He added that the gathering even set up a board headed by Governor Nasir El-rufai to investigate the issue.
Yusuf noticed that the Elrufai Committee acknowledged the thoughts of rebuilding, for example, state police, modification of income sharing recipe and abolishment of the third level of government and that the proposals of the Elrufai-advisory group were acknowledged by all the organs of the APC.
In any case, he said it was unfortunate that very little has been caught wind of the issue since the gathering won a second term two years back.
