The suspects have also confessed to have gotten the military kits from one Mr Hassan nicknamed, Commander.
According to Reporters, the Nigerian Army has apprehended six fake personnel in Delta State.
The fake personnel were nabbed after they mounted a roadblock along Midwifery School Road at Okpanam General area of Asaba in Delta State.
The arrested people are Nwokoye Chidera Emmanuel, aged 20; Nwokoye Francis, elderly 24; Chigozie Arinze, elderly 23; Kingsley Ndukuba, elderly 32; Chidera Anichukwu, aged 21; and Mr Chinedu Akwali, elderly 29.
The military stated in a launch on Thursday that the alleged impostors have been nabbed on Tuesday around 11pm by troops of the Operation Delta Hawk performing on an intelligence file.
During the arrest, the subsequent objects were recovered: one Mercedes Benz GL350, one Toyota Corolla with registration quantity ABJ 49 AA ABUJA, one Fabric Nationale bayonet and pairs of navy kits from one of the suspects, Mr Chidera, who claimed to be a Cadet from Southern Maritime Academy at Ugheli, Delta State.
The suspects also confessed to have got the army kits from one Mr Hassan nicknamed, Commander.
“Meanwhile the suspects have been surpassed over to sixty three Brigade Military Police Group for similarly research and prosecution.
“Consequently, the Brigade needs to name on the general public and law-abiding citizens of the nation to be wary of such people who parade themselves as military personnel and to record any suspicious person(s) to any nearest army formation and security corporations,” the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Mohammed Yerima, said in a release.
