Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom describes as disappointing, the comments made by his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed who blamed him for what he termed ‘negative perception of Fulani herders’ when he spoke on the current security situation in the country.

While Governor Ortom will not need to sign up for problems with the Bauchi State Governor, he finds it surprising that a colleague who took the oath of office as he also did, to shield and preserve the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, now takes the lead in violating provisions of the same Constitution through calling for lawlessness.

He points out that the most stunning a part of Governor Bala Mohammed’s declaration was wherein he defended herdsmen for bearing arms pronouncing “they don't have any alternative than to hold AK47 because the society and the authorities are not protecting them”.

Governor Ortom wonders which phase of the law the Bauchi State Governor cited to help herdsmen’s unfastened movement across the u . S . With sophisticated guns.

He remembers that it changed into the equal Governor Mohammed who as soon as stated on national television that a Fulani man is a worldwide citizen and therefore does not need a visa to come to Nigeria, and that the forests belong to herdsmen.

Governor Ortom wonders if his pal and colleague in Bauchi State is aware of a element or  about the horrendous activities of herders in parts of the usa to warrant the emotional defence and justification that he has again and again put forward in their favour.

In reference to Governor Bala Mohammed’s comment that there are Benue those who are freely doing enterprise in Bauchi and some other place, Governor Ortom states that Benue indigenes in Bauchi were regulation abiding and do no longer convey hands to attack their hosts, noting that Fulani as well as many different Nigerians living in Benue who respect laws of the land also stay peacefully with their hosts.
Governor Ortom says his administration has now not driven away any law abiding Nigerian in Benue State.

The Governor unearths it unfortunate that folks who are relied on with the humans’s mandate and have to basically uphold fact and justice, have selected to lie to the u . S .. He stresses the want for leaders to be careful and retrace their steps which can be able to main the us of a to anarchy.
