Elderly Women Kidnapped As Bandits Hit Dingyadi, Hometown Of Police Affairs Minister

Armed bandits on Thursday raided Dingyadi, the village of Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

ASP Sanusi Abubakar, spokesman of the Sokoto Police Command, confirmed the attack, saying it happened in the early hours of Thursday.

He said one man was killed while two women, including the wife of the late Village head of Saketa, were kidnapped.

Abubakar said the attackers who came on motorcycles struck around 1am.

“One guy lost his life at some point of the assault whilst  ladies have been abducted. The Commissioner of Police and other pinnacle law enforcement officials had been inside the village this morning to sympathize with them and measures were taken to stop future attack,” he stated.

A resident of the area, Yusuf Dingyadi, advised Daily Trust that it changed into a focused attack “due to the fact they handiest abducted the ones  girls and killed my brother in-law”.

“They surrounded the village before ransacking houses for his or her objectives. They whisked away one Hajiya Innawuro, the wife of our Late Village head, and every other housewife identified as Malama Zarau Mansur.

“They also killed our brother in-law, Malam Bello Magaji with a machete,” he stated.

The assault happened 24 hours after armed men raided the house of a commissioner, nonetheless in Sokoto, and abducted his family individuals.
