#EndSARS Hoodlums Stole $2m, N17m From My Palace - Oba Of Lagos, Akiolu Says

Oba of Lagos Rilwan Akiolu has alleged hoodlums who attacked his palace on October 21, 2020 stole $2 million and N17 million.

Hoodlums attacked buildings in Lagos State a day after soldiers opened live ammunition on #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll plaza on October 20, 2020.

They vandalised vehicles and carted away artefacts located at Iga Idugaran, Lagos Island.

They also went away with the staff of office commonly referred and plundered the palace for two days.

Akiolu, who spoke on Wednesday during the commissioning of the Glover Hall Memorial in Lagos, said he had avoided counting losses from the attack in public.

The monarch, even as lamenting that Lagos suffered “massive” destruction, stated those who attacked his palace were ignorant of the implication of what they did.

He additionally appealed to the Federal Government to assist Lagos to get over the destruction, announcing the state suffered from the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest than some other states within the us of a.

According to him: “I will guide anything a good way to circulate Lagos forward. I even have appealed to the Federal Government to assist Lagos with what we've got suffered. We host many humans here, now not Lagosians on my own. The incident that befell right here from October 20 to twenty third is so saddening.

“The destruction we suffered in Lagos is so enormous than in any other part of the country.

“Many homes have been burnt, which include motors used to generate income. I can now say publicly that they stole far from my palace $2 million and N17 million.

“Those who devoted the offence would no longer have executed that if they recognize the implication. But as a father, I won’t place any curse on them.”

After the attack on Akiolu’s palace, some squaddies whisked the septuagenarian away.

The monarch again to his palace over  months after he escaped from an assault on his palace.
