The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has elected a Ghanaian professor, Ato Essuman, its 20th chairman.
The election took place during the 69th meeting of Council held virtually from March 22-26.
A statement by the Head of Public Affairs, WAEC, Mr. Abiodun Adukoju, noted that Essuman takes over from Mr. Baboucarr Bouy from the Gambia for three years.
The pinnacle 3 performers out of two,122,844 inside the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) West African vicinity were also honoured.
The trio, all from Ghana, protected- Master Cecil Tetteh Kumah (first); Master Godfred Aseda Obeng (second); and Miss Afua Manukure Ansah.
