Plenty of incomings and outgoings are expected at the Emirates over the next few months, with the Gunners requiring fresh faces in defence, midfield and attack. Arteta also has the unenviable task of finding new clubs for some of the club’s out-of-favour stars who are set for the chop.
They include the likes of Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba, both of whom spent last season out on loan.
Lokonga terms agreed
Arsenal are preparing a new bid for Anderlecht star Albert Sambi Lokonga after ‘agreeing terms’ with the box-to-box midfielder.
The Gunners’ first offer, believed to be around £13million, was rejected by Anderlecht last week, but the clubs aren’t far apart in their valuations.
Het Laatste Nieuws claim the Belgian club are willing to do business for around £17.1m, which would include £3million in add-ons.
Guendouzi price set
Matteo Guendouzi’s days at the Emirates appear to be numbered. The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Hertha Berlin and is now a target for Benfica.
Portuguese outlet Radio Renascenca claim the Gunners are ‘demanding’ at least €20m for the 22-year-old, who has 12 months remaining on his current deal.
Marseille are also in the running for Guendouzi and are reportedly on the verge of wrapping up a deal for ex-Arsenal ace David Luiz. French ace William Saliba joined Arsenal in 2019 for around £30million but has yet to make an appearance for the club, spending time out on loan with Saint-Etienne and Nice in the last two seasons.
The Daily Mail believe he could be about to leave the Emirates on a temporary basis once again, with reports claiming the Gunners want to send him out on loan to another Premier League club. Saliba’s future could be dependent on Arsenal’s move for Brighton defender Ben White, who is a major target for Arteta this summer.
