Herry Kane Visiting Ridgeway Rovers

Widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, and the finest English goalscorer of his generation, Harry Kane has come a long way since his lower-league loan struggles and fight to earn a regular start at Tottenham.

Before making his breakthrough at Spurs in 2014, he’d had loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester, spanning three years.

The striker has since won three Premier League Golden Boots, was the World Cup top scorer in 2018, and English player of the year in 2017 and 2018.

Harry Kane's path towards becoming a professional footballer started with him attending trials at Ridgeway Rovers, where David Beckham also played. He impressed coaches even at the age of six.

Dave Bricknell, who was in charge that day at Loughton rugby club, recalled: "He could see a pass, he could play. He was very, very good at an early age. He could strike a ball."

However, he believed the striker's greatest quality, even in those days, was "his great self-belief".

Off the field, Kane has sponsored Leyton Orient’s matchday shirts to support three charities and played a key role in #PlayersTogether, a fundraising initiative from Premier League players, which aims to raise funds for the NHS in the Covid-19 crisis.

He married his childhood sweetheart, Katie, in 2019.

He goes into Sunday's game looking to not only score the winner for England, but also become the Three Lions' outright top scorer at European Championships and take the Euro 2020 Golden Boot.
