Following the swearing-in of the new President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ex President Muhammadu Buhari has left Abuja for his hometown in Daura, Katsina State.
Buhari and his First Lady, Aisha Buhari left the inauguration venue in Abuja immediately after handing over to Tinubu.
An aide to the former president, Bashir Ahmad made the disclosure on Monday in a video shared on Twitter.
Sharing the video he tweeted: “Alhamdulillah. President Muhammadu Buhari departs Abuja for Daura, his hometown, after eight years serving the country as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Thank you, Baba.”
