A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has demanded controversial social media activist, Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkman, in police custody.
The prosecution initially sought to have Verydarkman remanded in prison custody. However, his lawyers requested that he be kept in police custody instead.
The court accepted this request, and Verydarkman was subsequently taken to the National Cybercrime Centre.
The Tiktoker is to remain in custody until his next hearing as the police opposed his bail application during his arraignment on Wednesday, 22nd May.
The controversial activist was arraigned on five counts bordering on cyberstalking. The case was adjourned to next Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
