Insecurity: Niger deputy gov hails Nigerian Armed Forces’ resilience

 

The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their resilience in the fight against insecurity in the state.

He gave the commendation when he received a delegation from the Military formation led by Air Commodore Lazarus Solomon, Commander, 013 Quick Response Force on a condolences visit in Minna on Tuesday.

In the delegation was: Brig. -Gen. Hamidu Bobbo, Commander 313 Artillery Brigade Minna and Brig.-Gen. Taye Ahmed, 18 Brigade, Bida.

Comrade Yakubu Garba described death, “as inevitable”, adding that he has taken the death of his wife as the will of Allah who gives life and takes life when it pleases him.

“I appreciate your visit and the brotherhood that has existed between us, as a people of faith, we have taken everything as the will of Allah.

“I appeal to all to join in prayers for her soul to have the mercy of Allah and His pardon,” he said.

He, however, appreciated the resilience of the Nigerian Armed Forces  and the sacrifices of troops that had helped to safeguard the territorial of the State.

He appealed to the Nigerian Army in their subsequent planning to reconsider the withdrawal of troops from Allawa community and environs in Shiroro local government area.

He noted that the withdrawal of personnel had brought little setback in the area and appealed to the army to redeploy its personnel to the area to give security cover especially to farmers. 

Earlier, Air Commodore  Lazarus  Solomon said the visit was to commiserate with the deputy governor over the recent  death of his wife, Hajiya Zainab Garba, adding that her demise came as a great shock to all.

“We are here to commiserates with our dear deputy governor of the state who we have access to discussing alot of issues relating to the security and peace of Nigerlites.

“His is a deputy with a difference that spokes the words of his boss and it is on that platform we have have a cordial relationship, so this loss is a big loss to Niger state,” he said.

Air Commodore Solomon noted that the demise of Hajiya  Zainab had created a vacuum and prayed God to make the deputy governor stronger to withstand all forms of tribulations that would come with the loss of his wife. 

In the same vein, the deputy governor also received stakeholders from the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), especially from Shiroro Local Government Area,  and former Commissioners on condolence visits.
