Following the announcement by president Buhari concerning the extension of the lockdown order for an extra 2 weeks because of the spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria, Nigerians have expressed their bitter concern about the extension. Many Nigerians Believe that they are already dying of hunger, staying at home for another 2 weeks will really be a very catastrophic for Nigerians.
President Buhari made an announcement yesterday that he is extending the lockdown order. According to Buhari's statement, he thanked Nigerians for their patients and determination to defeat Covid-19. He explained that he understands the plight of many Nigerians who have to work in other to eat. He further said that despite the fact that the Nigerian government have asked a lot from its citizens during this period, the government has to ask the citizens to please stay at home for a little longer.
He further thanked Nigerians for obeying the government despite the fact that there is some restriction on their freedom of movement and association. He also announced that the federal government have announced different measures to assist Nigerians whom are most hit at this time. He announced that 70,000 tones of grain have released by the federal government of Nigeria. cash payment is being made in different parts of the country. It is our duty to Defeat the virus by accepting some of the restrictions that comes with it.

Nigerians have expressed their feelings concerning the extension of the lockdown. Many Nigerians trooped into the president's tweeter account to express their anger and how disappointed they are. The main problem faced by Nigerians is the high rate of hunger and suffering which will be faced by Nigerians. Many people must go to work before they can eat on a daily basis. If they don't go to work, they won't eat. As the lockdown keeps extending, many people won't go to work and they won't be able to eat.
