Jide Kosoko was born on January 12, 1954 to the Kosoko family on the island of Lagos. He grew up in Ebute Metta, Lagos and attended the Yaba College of Education in Yaba, where he studied business administration. At the age of 60, Jide attended Olabisi Onabanjo University off Iwoye in the state of Ogun, where he studied performing arts.
Kosoko started his acting career in 1964 at the age of 10. He played in a stage play called Makanjuola.
He then became known after participating in television programs and several films.
Kosoko was married to four women all his life. Three of the four are running late, including Henrietta, who was an actress until her death in June 2016. Jide now stays with Alhaja Karimat.
The experienced actor is also blessed with children and grandchildren. Some of his children are also artists who do great work in the film industry
