Lessons We Must Learn From Marcus Rashford's Open Letter To British Government u.s

In a surprising and unexpected act, Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford penned an open letter to the UK Government, regarding a societal issue that is affecting the country. The act, which has received rave reviews, and commendations from all around the world speaks volume of the kind of person that Marcus Rashford is. The letter stated specifically, on how and why the UK Government must continue to feed vulnerable school children irrespective of the hard times, and school closure that the Coronavirus pandemic has caused. It was a sincere, and hearty plea by a player who has demonstrated the highest level of compassion, for the most vulnerable around his community. Rashford's letter brings a lot of lessons, that we all can learn from. 1.Never Forget Where You Come From The Crux of Rashford's letter was, seeking a continued support for families who cannot afford to feed their kids, amid the uncertainty of the British economy recovering from the Coronavirus pandemic. It is a letter detailing, why no UK child, and kid should go to bed hungry, especially as the summer holidays approaches. Marcus Rashford letter, is driven by a humble background as a kid growing up in Manchester, and having to depend on school feeding vouchers, which is currently valued at 15 Pounds. These vouchers were once life saving meal tickets, for not only Rashford, but his family too. And that is more than enough push for him, now a multi millionaire footballer, to use his famous status, and make a rallying plea to the U.K government to protect poor, less privileged, and vulnerable people from hunger. It is a simple lesson to each, and everyone of us, especially footballers who went from grass to grace by playing their way out of poverty. Rashford has demonstrated, and shown what it means to never forget your roots. 2.We Should Stop Playing Politics With The Future Generations The year is 2020, and a Government like the British still feel that feeding vulnerable school kids should be least of their priority, when they are more than capable of doing so even through the holidays. I am saying this because Britian, is not Nigeria, or other African countries where there is no systematic, and detailed planning with regards to Services like this. Hence, raises the question of why Politicians must refrain from playing with future generations, who will determine how our world will look like.Like Marcus Rashford opined in his letter, if he had suffered extreme hunger or died from childhood hunger, we would not be watching him play today, or know him as a talented football player. It then raises a key lesson that, Politicians must always know the wrong policies comes with consequences, and the future generations should not be toyed with no matter how insignificant a policy, like school feeding programme is. No matter how Marcus Rashford's letter pans out, he will always be a hero in the eyes of those he courageously, and dared to stand up for using his enormous platform. And as we hope that the British Government reverse their decision, the world will never forget this special act by Marcus Rashford.
