The above picture belongs to 24years old Alex Peter a native of Umunoha in mbaitoli, Imo state. He studied Accounting at theUniversity of Calabar. He is a hyper realistic pyrography artist who creates facinating act work using Razor blade and sand paper on burnt wood. Peter has always been an art enthusiast, he started drawing at the age of 5 and uptill now he never for once gave up on his passion for drawing.
However, Peter's perception in the world of art and the usual sketching, pencil drawing and the famous colour painting changed over time when he got admitted newly in the university. As a determined young man who's willing to putt all efforts to get to the very acme as desired by him, Peter self pioneered an art form which is drawing on a burnt wood with razor blades, Sandpaper and fire. Upon posting his first work on social media. Twitter precisely, Alot of people where marveled at such brilliancy.
Peter effortlessly draws all kind of images Making use of the razor blade which ordinarily many consider a risk to use unprotectively. In a spasmodic interview with Peter when asked if he feels any kind of pain or severe cuts as a result of making use of a raw razor blade in drawing, "He said " I don't feel any kind of pain as a matter of fact I have never had any sort of wound since I started this form of drawing. Amazing isn't it? Well Peter's case clearly shows that determination, passion and consistency helps build on up to do things that others would consider impossible..
going forward, we will be taking a look at Peter's mind blowing work of art, the Picasso's of this world apparently doesn't hold a candle with him.
The budding artist once made a drawing of this nature for Nigerian and leceister city midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, one which he gained recognition from and made huge profits from.
Here is a drawing of the Lijadu sister's by peter, (Agbara ati inara) is an ongoing series Lijadu sisters which represents the African society at large in all her glory, pain and fears.
Inspired by the Lijadu sister's and the novel COVID-19 Alex Peter employs the use of razor blade, fire and wood to capture support, oneness, strength and pain that runs with the moving time and ticks with the tension as panic rules because strength is falling, as the cold hands of death approach rapidly. With a careful study one sister giving support to the ill sister. One could easily see clearly the fear and tension on her face as she tries to absorb all the pain from her sister with little bead of sweats escaping her pores. The world now stands United supporting and fighting against one common enemy "COVID-19" .
In the final analysis, Colour, Race, religion, enthnicity, political party or social status never matters. All that matters is you and I it's COVID-19 against the world. Beautiful art work and a didactic one at that.
This particular art work is trying to let us know that there's a great potential in everyone, you have to work hard to discover the "gold crown" in you.
Peter's brilliant piece of work
Paper comes from wood and wood comes from tree Alex Peter takes it back to it's root with this beautiful piece that technically illustrates some unsaid inhumanity the girl child goes through in our society today, Inspired by the Indispensable "Rape" saga's.
The magic done by Razorblades and sandpaper.
Excellent work of art, behind every smiling face there's a problem eating up deep.Alex peter does not only draw, he also sends a didactic and inspiring message through his art.
Peter's Taken is undoubtedly a gobsmacking that everyone who happens to come across it will instantly wish he/she had such talent. Indeed some persons are uniquely gifted, each time I come across his work I always wish like it will reach the right hands and open the right doors for him, his art is so beautiful and original that one would naturally want it sending him to amazing exhibition anf bringing in huge commission. I believe people will see this and be motivated enough to hold on to their dream with Passion.
