Which One Is Better? See The Campaign Method Of Obaseki And That Of Ize-Iyamu

As the Edo State Governorship Election approaches, there has been an intense suspension of anxiety in the hearts of the supporters and candidates of both the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP), and it is only a matter of days before the victor of the elections will be announced and be inaugurated into the position as the new Governor of the state. 

While this battle for the seat of power has started some months ago, the few remaining days however will have a major influence in the outcome of the forthcoming election in the state. Seeing as both candidates, Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, have both increased the frequency and intensity of their campaign rallies and manifestos. 

We shall therefore have a thrilling look at the Campaign Methods in which both parties have applied thus far, to propel their political agenda and ambition. 

1. Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu's Campaign Method:

The Standard flag-bearer and ticket winner of the APC, has adopted a smart method for his campaign, which has been of great value towards gaining more supporters for his cause. A method that has been in use by virtually all aspirants who seek to defeat the incumbent administration. 

Recall that, Ize-Iyamu has always been an active and formidable political opponent, considering his politics during the 2016 election in Edo state, when he was also running against Obaseki but under the Umbrella of the PDP and wasn't supported by Adams Oshiomhole, who was Obaseki's jolly ally then. 

The potent weapon of Ize-Iyamu's method is Criticism as he attacks, emphasizes and exaggerates the flaws and abandoned project of the incumbent government, therefore promising the people that he will not fail them or leave trails of abandoned projects in his wake after his tenure in office. 

The criticism method was also displayed during campaign rally, when Kabaka mentioned Obaseki's wife and called her a 'childless woman', thereby implying that Obaseki was not fit to run the country. 

Another method is the Federal Endorsement which he enjoys and the timely introduction of his 5 point agenda if elected into office, an agenda which he called, SIMPLE. In this Agenda, the APC aspirant promised the Edo people various projects and development in the state If they vote for him during the election.

And lastly, the 'Betrayal' method is being used by Ize-Iyamu, with Adams Oshiomhole posing as a political ally who have been betrayed by Obaseki. This will definitely gain them more votes as the people like to support the weak or the loser, in which Oshiomhole is now doing an excellent job, posing as. 

2. Governor Godwin Obaseki's Campaign Method:

Being the incumbent governor and leader of the administration in power, Obaseki's political activities has been limited to a minimum, because the people would suspect him of using the administrative power in his disposition to manipulate the election. 

For this reason, Godwin Obaseki has been limited to few options, which fortunately he had perfected and is now effectively managing and implementing during his campaign. 

The Governor has been walking the road of 'Totality' with his campaign and that is the first method that will be mentioned. 'Totality' in the sense that, while the opposition only visit Local Government Areas for their campaigns, thereby gathering large forces to attend, Obaseki has been visiting the Units and Wards of each LGA, making sure no stone is left unturned. 

The governor has also seem to include a bit of 'Violence' in his method, seeing as the opposition party keeps getting attacked, bill boards being burnt and destroyed and the recent suspicious auto accident of Adams Oshiomhole, when he was travelling to a Campaign rally in the state. 

However, this method is not solid enough because it is yet to be confirmed by any official agency, that the governor is employing violence as a campaign method against the opposition party.

The most inherent method he has however resorted to is the agenda which he presented to the people of Edo state, promising to provide quality roads, basic amenities and improve on his uncompleted projects during his tenure as Governor of the state. He also charged the people to rid the state of 'Political God-fatherism', by voting for him during the forthcoming election.
