The sporting world longs for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to throw punches at one another in the boxing ring. But they already have.

For while Joshua's win over Kubrat Pulev on Saturday intensified calls for him to face Fury in 2021, the pair actually tussled in 2010.

On his way back from the exercise center, Fury - who was 22 at that point and an expert - called Steve Bunce at BBC Radio London and clarified what Joshua - who was 20 and pursuing novice praises - resembled.

Presently that the Joshua-Fury contention has arrived at another level, BBC Sport boxing reporter Mike Costello portrays Fury's words from 10 years sooner as "gold residue". Here they are.

"I just went down to Finchley Boxing Club and competed the ABA champion Anthony Joshua. He's super hot him, generally excellent.

"To be completely forthright with you I thought 'I'll just relax on the grounds that he's just a novice and he likely won't fight me again in the event that I go frantic'.

"He hurried out at me, he tossed a one-two and left snare and slam, he hit me with an uppercut directly on the purpose of the jaw.

"In the event that I'd had a feeble jawline like David Price I'd have been taken out for a month. He's incredibly, acceptable and he's just youthful. Watch out for that name, Anthony Joshua, he is one possibility for what's to come.

"I'm a decent possibility, I rate myself as one of the top heavyweights on the planet and he came at me for three rounds and he beat the hell out of me. I won't deny it. He gave what for, damnation for cowhide. I thought 'a beginner is murdering me'.

"I eased back him down with a couple of good body shots. The child is just 20. I'm a modest bunch myself, so for him to set up a decent execution like that against a top possibility in me, I believe he's one for what's to come.

"Be that as it may, competing isn't battling and battling with a head watch isn't proficient boxing."
