NDLEA Officers Shot Me On My Arm Inside Market - Shoemaker Tells Abia State Judicial Panel Of Inquiry

He told the Abia State panel of inquiry how operatives of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, shot him at his shop at the market, on 31st July 2015.

Mr Maduabuchi Friday, a shoemaker at the Ariaria International Market, Aba, has told his police brutality story.

The man told the Abia State board of request, extrajudicial killings and related issues how agents of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, shot him at his shop at the market, on 31st July 2015.

Madubauchi, who appealed to the board through his direction, K.J Anya, clarified that he was in his shop when NDLEA agents began shooting inconsistently while seeking after street pharmacists on the lookout and a slug hit him on his correct hand.

In his words; "On 31st July, 2015,I was in my shop at the Ariaria International market where I make shoes when men of the NDLEA began shooting irregularly while seeking after street pharmacists at the market. A projectile hit my correct hand.

It was with the assistance of my neighbors that I was hurried to the Holy Wound Christian Hospital at 169 Faulks street, Aba, where the slug was taken out from his body."

He clarified that Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu visited him and different casualties at the clinic and set aside some installment to the clinic for their treatment. He said the lead representative further vowed to remunerate them to assist them with resuscitating their organizations.

The casualty said because of his doctor's visit expense not completely settled, he was released by the medical clinic when he had not completely recuperated and important medications and infusions were not given.

He said; "What stunned me more than anything was that the NDLEA officials who were liable for my experience and that of different casualties were not dealt with."

Maduabuchi regretted that the letters he kept in touch with the Commissioner of Police, Abia State and the Commandant of NDLEA in Abia State requesting Justice and pay because of the helpless condition of his wellbeing, family and business, yielded no natural product.

"Till date, I have neither gotten equity nor pay; this has made untold difficulty me and my family since I'm the family's provider."

He engaged Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu to +bring the culprits to equity just as remunerate him to resuscitate his business.
