Brief history of Ofala celebration:
The Ofala Festival is a yearly service rehearsed by Igbo individuals, especially the indigenes of Onitsha, Umueri, Umuoji and other neighboring networks, for example, Aguleri, Nnewi and Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area.
It fills in as a ceremonies of recharging of the ruler or Igwe or Obi and it is like the Igue celebration in Benin and the Ine, Osi or Ogbanigbe Festival in numerous mid-West Igbo people group of Nigeria. The term ofala, is gotten from two Igbo words - ọfọ (English: authority) and ala (English: land).
The celebration is praised inside two days generally in October by the Obi (English: lord) and is a standard commitment that should be played out each couple of years come what may
