Naira Marley’s Valentine Concert In Cameroon Officially Cancelled

Controversial Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, was billed to perform at Chariot Hotel, Buea, Cameroon, on Valentine’s Day but the show was cancelled due to opposition by Cameroonian artistes. Before the cancellation of the show, the venue for the concert was changed twice.

A press explanation by the coordinator of the show, Prince Mykel Enobi, read to a limited extent, "Until the previous evening, The Naira Marley Valentine experience was planned for Sunday fourteenth February at the Chariot Hotel, Buea, yet the setting was moved to the Limbe Amusement Park, Mile 4. 

"This 11th hour change is because of mainstream interest from Marlians, space imperatives and the expanding interest for tickets from intense Naira Marley fans and 237 music darlings across the public triangle, who want to see their hotshots in a greater space! 

"Like the articulation goes, the greater the better! Organization Lounge and Cliq Empire apologizes for any burdens this may have caused to the individuals who had just bought the tickets. We will jump at the chance to rehash and reaffirm our longing to give you a permanent Valentine Experience with Naira Marley and other 237 music wonders – Fhish, Askia, Mic Monsta, Show Yoh, Taron X and a large group of others. The after-gathering will be imparted inside the hours ahead." 

Likewise, oneself acclaimed President of the Marlians made a video saying 'sorry' to his Cameroonian fans, expressing that the show couldn't occur 'because of clear reasons.' 

Marley said, "I'm live and direct in Cameroon yet I will apologize first and foremost that the show isn't going on today, it has been delayed for evident reasons. 

"I'm here, it is lit and I am having a good time; the food is decent and I like the view. We will improve very soon. The advertisers made an honest effort yet for evident reasons, it can't occur." 

Notwithstanding, a columnist Joey Akan through his Twitter account guaranteed that the show was ruined by Cameroonian artistes who were unsettled that a Nigerian vocalist was the significant main event of a gigantic show in their country. 

Akan in a progression of tweets guaranteed that Special Forces Soldiers raged the setting and pursued everybody away. 

He stated, "Yesterday, a Naira Marley show planned to hold in Cameroon didn't occur. Extraordinary Forces Soldiers overflowed the scene, dissipated it, and pursued everybody away, regardless of Marley being in the country and prepared to hit the stage. Why? Scorn and hamburger from Cameroonian specialists. 

"He moved the show from Buea to Limbe. These performers actually went to call the exceptional powers arm of the military. They appeared and dispersed the stage and scene. Advertiser actually moved the show to Douala, the performers actually appeared there and dispersed the setting.

A year ago, a Cameroonian joke artist and entertainer, Pancho C.Y International, required a prohibition on Nigerian music in Cameroon. 

In a brief video, which he posted in December 2020, the Cameroonian performer asserted that ceaseless footing for Nigerian music was looting Cameroonian artistes of authentic foothold in their own country. 

Additionally, recently, another Cameroonian craftsman, Tzy Panchak, broadcasted that he was greater than Naira Marley and all Nigerian artistes in a viral video.
