The 400 level student of Crop Production Technology said the gunmen came well prepared for the operation.
Source reported that one of the many rescued students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has narrated how a group chat on WhatsApp led to the deployment of a security agent to the college.
Bandits had on Thursday night time broke into the faculty and abducted a few college students.
Speaking to reporter, the 400 stage pupil of Crop Production Technology stated the gunmen got here properly organized for the operation, adding that maximum of the students had escaped into the bush at some stage in the assault.
He stated, “I think if there were no social media, it might were an smooth rely for them (bandits) because nobody had the thoughts to make a name; it turned into a simple post that saved the scenario.
“We have a social media platform that's the college’s chat group, and that became where we first published that there has been a hassle within the college and the faculty control took it up from there.
“We all bumped into the bush. When the army got here, some of our friends might call us after which they will come and pick us within the bush areas we were hiding. There changed into a shoot out with the bandits because they had been fully organized for the operation. If not for the intervention of security sellers, I suppose they could have carried every body within the school.”
