The Senate has prosecuted the Nigeria Police Force for purportedly killing a final year student of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Chinedu Obi, and commanded the police specialists to pay to his family N10m as compensation.
Obi, who was arrested on July 19, 2019 after a disagreement with a female telephone seller for alleged assault, died in controversial circumstances in police guardianship, after being denied admittance to relatives and clinical consideration.
In a request to the Senate by the insight to the family, Omemiroro Ogedegbe, uncovered that the perished went to Otta, Ogun State to visit his companion when he met his inconvenient passing.
While affirming before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition, Ogedegbe said the expired didn't avoid capture in opposition to cop's case.
