The assertion read: "following the new suspension of the nine-month modern activity by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Senate of the University of Ilorin has endorsed the resumption of scholarly exercises for the Rain Semester as from Jan.11, 2021". 

"The resumption of scholastic exercises followed the Senate's endorsement of recommendations by the Committee of Provost and Deans in their gathering hung on Dec. 30, 2020," the assertion said. 

The University Spokesperson added that different goals of the gathering included 13 weeks of talks and three weeks of Rain Semester Examinations. 

"There will be just fourteen days for checking and calculations of results and preparing of staff on Virtual Learning between Jan. fourth and eighth 2021. Useful classes will begin after COVID-19 break," he said. 

Akogun expressed that at its 285th Emergency Meeting held practically through Zoom on Dec. 31, the Senate clarified that talks will, notwithstanding, be conveyed online in accordance with the orders of the National Universities Commission (NUC). 

In the interim, the Senate has additionally endorsed the re-arrangement of Prof. Sylvia Malomo as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and Prof. Mikhail Buhari as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (RTI), the assertion added. (NAN)
